My First Euthanasia

Today is only Monday, and I had to put down my first animal. I work at an animal clinic, basically as a paid intern to fill up my external-work for my Veterinary Medicine degree.

Although I realize that animals do pass on eventually, it's just hard looking in at them and knowing today is their last day to live. A lot of these animals are put down here because animal sanctuaries don't have enough room to store them and neither do we, as we house our injured animals in the same stall...

The hope that she carried

both hug tight for fear of leaving each other
not knowing if or when he’ll be back
she stands there and watches him walk away
until the sky above turns pitch black

every week he is gone he writes her a letter
and every week she replies
then one week no letter
she looks down and she sighs

maybe he’s busy
2 weeks go by then 3
she looks through the mail
and in there she finds a letter

I'm not the most beautiful girl in the world
But I know I look okay
I know I don't feel confident anymore
So I just fake that I am

I cant handle stress
when stress comes I start to shake
and I cant stop
It starts to hurt really bad

what am I going to do
I promised I wouldn't cut anymore
but I do miss the feeling
the stress just flowing out of me

now I feel like I'm going to cry
why cant I stop
