Stoping Smoking: Day 1
09.30am: so full of good intentions this morning, i woke up and slapped a nicotene patch on my hip. Got dressed and wandered outside to wait for my lift. puffed away on my inhalator feeling like a complete idiot, smoking a fake cig.
Got to work and feeling a bit itchy under and round the patch. by 9.25 (an hour after i put it on) i had to take it off again. now my hip is red, and shiney and swolen and sore. Apparently i'm allergic to the patches, so i'm stuck with the inhalator, and will power.
hope this itching stops soon tho
15.30: The itching has stoped and the swelling gone down now. it's still a little sore. I'm not feeling too bad for cravings, but feeling a bit low and emotional (not sure if this is related or not!) considering smoking one tonight when i get home. i do have four left. not sure though. just taking everything to heart a bit. Although i feel like an idiot with the inhalator it does seem to work and i feel better about not smoking. they say you get thought about 3-4 carterages a day but i'm still on the first one. this is a good thing i think.

It's the 6th now and almost the 7th, hows the nicotine free (or should I say reduced) lifestyle working for you?
Quitting the cigs can be tough. Do you have anyone local that's encouragement for you? I think that helps a lot. |

well it kinda didn't work out so well. i've been not smoking through the day and thats working really really well for me, but it's when i'm working behind the bar things are hard, because i get my 'union-cig break' everyhalf hour. and well i WANT to smoke. but just not the rest of the time.
I have a support group that i go to once a week. Today is my stop alltogether day. it is now... 4.00pm and still no cigarette. this is good! also no-one is dead or broken which is better! x |
