Community Contest: DJ Remix
The Moderators and Administrators of GenXGlow.com are proud to announce our 3rd community-wide contest! Due to the powerful success and fun had by our first, and second contest, we decided to do another. However, this contest is completely different...

How It Works:
It's pretty simple really. The people of GenXGlow will chose a song for all contesting DJs to remix. The DJs will be given two weeks to remix the song in whatever way he/she chooses. Any genre, any style, anything goes.

Details:
We will be holding a site-wide poll for the selection of the song. It will start with posting song ideas in this thread, from which the moderators/admins will all pick their favorite choices and create a poll from which members can vote. The poll will be open for a week and the winning song will be the one remixed by all the contestants.

After the song selecting process is complete, the DJs will be given a deadline and will be required to submit their song via email to myself. dancefLoor@genxglow.com

When the deadline comes, all the submitted music will be posted in a new poll for members to chose the winner. That poll will be private, and open for two weeks, after which the winner will be announced.

We will be taking ideas until August 25th, at which time the Moderators and Admins will choose their favorites and create the poll.

I wanted to put up a clear timeline for everyone.

Song Nomination Period: (One Week) 8/18/08 - 8/25/08

Song Voting Period: (One Week) 8/25/08 - 9/1/08
The contest song will be announced that evening. Any purely vocal versions will be emailed to all contestants.

Remixing Period: (Two Weeks) 9/2/08 - 9/16/08
All entries must be submitted by midnight on the 16th

Winner Selection Period: (Two Weeks) 9/16/08 - 9/30/08


Also, I would like to add that ALL DJs planning to participate must PM me before 9/1/08. When the contest song is announced, I will also announce all the people who are officially contending.

I think it would be a more interesting contest if we asked our dj's to remix a song in some form of techno, and it be a song that is not techno originally...

That's a perfect example...But I don't think any amount of techno could help that song, or hey there delilah...I don't like those songs, but sadly, I still learned how to play them...Meh, girls like em, so I'll learn em...
