opinions of the war?

I was thinking of the hippie influence that ended the weird war in Vietnam, and I was thinking if we'll ever have such a big impact. So I was thinking again, who supports the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Korea (for those that don't remember, we have over 100,000 troops stationed in south Korea, nearly 45,000 in Kosovo (the movie behind enemy lines), I think you understand the numbers in the Middle East). I support Kosovo, Afghanistan, and to an extent Iraq... to an extent, I also support the station in Korea now that they have nuclear missles... bastards. I don't like what We're doing in Iraq, finding a new goverment and all, espically establishing Democracy right off the bat, we did that totally wrong. Democracy can only work when you have an educated people... not saying they're stupid, but Stalin didn't exactly teach the Russians everything, I doubt Saddam did as well.

If you seen what those poor bastards called home before we went there ....... and seen all the good we are doing over there ..... and all the stuff we have given them..... I think you would back it %100. Please don't listen to CNN ..... they love to show the dark side of war...... Not saying war doesn't suck..... but we are building schools to educate them. Hospitals to heal them. Showing them how to provide more food for one another. Giving them a chance to move up in the world. I could go on all night.

i don't like war at all but i'm still for it and i do feel like a douche for supporting it but it's kind of like the song.. war is necessary, war brings peace

I don't know if I support the war overseas, but I support all military in everything they do, everyone in my family except my sisters has been or is a marine.But I do recognize our presence over the is required to secure peace, but I say it's about time we say fuck them, withdraw, and drop some nukes, WW2 style.

I am a pacifist. That said - I support the decisions of my friedns and family to serve in the armed forces, I support thier hard work, and I support their feeling that they have, by their work, made a positive difference in someone's life. I don't believe that war is right, and I will do everyhting that I can to create a world where we don't have to fight, but until that time comes, I support the individuals who choose to use their skills and love in this way because they feel that they are making a positive doffierence in their world.

This will never happen ...... Power corrupts people ...... Even allot of our own leaders are corrupt. That's why democracy prevails ..... Theres a check in power. But when you have people like Saddam and Stalin who have complete control .... The power corrupts them. One individual with that much power over billions of people will never work. Not saying our government is flawless, cause it's not. But this is the greatest country in the world. If everyone lived by PLUR ..... we might be able to pull off total peace ...... but good luck getting that to happen. lol

I honestly wish everyone could just get along....... Tired of loosing brothers and sisters over there.

me too. That's why I strive for peace. I know it's an uphill battle, but I choose to try. It's what I can do to create a better, safer world for the people I love and the people I don't even know. I think the thing I would most like people to understand is that I know that I'm an optimist, I fully understand that power often corrupts, I know what that means, I am not naive, many of us that chose to work for peaceful resoultion of conflicts are fully aware of the politics and ramifications of power abuse....but if I weren't an optimist I would have jumped off a bridge a long time ago. It's what I can do. I come from a military family that has also given birth to numberous concientious objectors. we believe in the same things,w e just choose to work towards that hope in a different way.

the war right now is a really big mess.
it's going on because of the american gov't.
i'm american and i kind of see our gov't as a stubborn league of power.
there are many conspiracies about 9/11.
i'm a believer of some of the conspiracies that 9/11 was a planned attack by the american gov't .
they're just hungry bastards that want oil.
we need someone to lead us kind of like John Lennon with the vietnam war..
i said before that war is kind of necessary but not in this extent.
i decided to post this cause i had a deep thought about it.

the way i see it war only sows the seeds of future wars. and i cant justify the way were acting. its one planet, one species.. acting like squabbling children. i mean come on people. i hate to say it, but as a planet we need a serious kick in the ass to get out stuff together, b/c we're better than this and if wed pull ourselves together we could accomplish so much more..

Yes we are helping them,
at the cost of our troops
Yes its great if they can come up in the world.
but we went in under false pretenses, we had no reason to be there.
so ya. im against the war, im for helping people.
