i have already posted this in another thread, but it's something i'd like you all to read and discuss.. i'm sticking this temporarily cuz i think it's important for this site, and for our entire culture.. please take the time to read..

there have been some small edits to the gxg rules.. please take a moment to review them.. this is specifically in reference to drugs..

officially we do not condone the distribution or even suggestion of buying/selling/hookin someone up on this site.. period.. what is allowed is the sharing of information so that others may make informed personal decisions about their choice 2 use or not.. sharing of personal experience is quite allowable in this scenario..

personally, i am a supporter of responsible use, but i do feel it is becoming entirely too casual a topic here on genxglow.. i think you all understand that we are demonized by drug culture.. yes, it is, and probably always will be a part of our scene.. but it's only a part.. rave culture is not about drugs.. rave culture is about MUSIC!! specifically electronic dance music.. if all we did was dance, there'd probly never be a bust.. even when we "borrow" a space..

the reason we get shut down time and again is because law enforcement agencies know there are going to be drugs.. this is partially due to the fact that we all bloody talk about it too much.. and the occasional lunatic like the guy in colorado who dropped 10 hits of acid and brutally murdered his girlfriend pretty much destroys us all.. nevermind the thousands of us who wouldn't hurt a fly, the one who did did it in a big way and it's damn near impossible to recover form something like that..

the point to all of this, my friends--and i don't say 'friends' casually.. i love the culture, the scene, and all you awesome ravers in it and, given the opportunity would personally make friends with every one of you--is: BE RESPONSIBLE!! keep your heads about you.. this includes not only use, but the information you choose to share about that use.. yes, share your experiences.. but don't let this be about the drugs because it isn't!! drugs enhance, they do not create..

so i'm going to ask, pesonally, that you all (including me) check yoursleves before you post up drug talk.. is it relevant to the situation?? will it help someone else make an informed decision?? or are you just shootin your yap about what you took or are gonna get?? use your head's my friends.. think responsibly.. be smart.. ok??

one more thing, you will probably notice that i am fairly open about pot.. i am a supporter of legalization.. i believe that alcohol is significantly more damaging than marijuana will ever be and we have as much right to the RESPONSIBLE use of marijuana as alcohol.. i also believe this is a fight we can win.. we will not win when it comes to any schedule 1 narcotic.. acid, heroin, coke, meth, etc, and yes, ecstacy.. as such, just please be careful when you discuss use.. and make NO offer to give or sell or ask for help in finding any substance on any public forum..

Yeah.. well, that about sums it up. I feel very much the same as you may have read in my post earlier. I have much more thought about this, but I grow weary and I'm trying to fight off my shitty sleeping schedule. I was on a good one, for two days, then I failed hardcore.

Just remember everyone if your going to do any drugs use your head dont be stupid .... you dont want to go crazy or get caught !

Yes, yes, yes...I too have noticed discussion of this topic has become common place on the site of late and do not holistically approve. Not that I'm totally against drugs, cause that'd make me a hypocrite. Although, I do uphold the view that they are not a necessary part of the scene. It would surely exist without them, or even glowsticks. When it comes down to it, the rave scene is about the music, the people and the peoples' love for the music (and other people=community/family). I, personally, am sober (not even drunk) at nearly every party I go to and enjoy them greatly. If we are ever to step away from this negative stereotype, we must take some actions against it (ie: not talking about it so much or doing it so often). Like Jared said, enhancement, not the sole means for enjoyment of an event. Well said, as always.

i 100% agree with this, well said. iv'e been asked by so many people if i do drugs solly because i go to raves. im all for responcible use, but come on, thats just a bad image were getting. if you cant have fun at a party sober, then you just shouldent go because obviously your there for the wrong reasons...

Sure I condone responsible, moderate use, but I generally go to raves for the music and community and I can have that without drugs. Raves are not about drugs, they are about people, nothing more, nothing less. Very well said Jare.
