YAY sum1 agrees with me hahahaha. But yea i hate to say it but the term "rave" is just getting over used and commercialized nowadays aswell imo. PPL go to clubs calling it a rave and its like what makes that a rave? Just becasue there are djs playing EDM music does not mean its a "rave" that just means that there are djs palying EDM music lol. Being at a rave to me means being instantly part of a family the min u enter wherever the "rave" is being held. Its not being judged on how u act or what u wear and its about listening to great EDM djs doing what they love.......spinning awsome music to eager ppl wanting to hear it.
PLUR HTID..........those arent just meaningless phrases theyre a way of life
Raves have grown in different directions since the laws have changed putting restrictions on our scene and such. You still have raves that are underground and are not regulated by state/county laws to open/close at certain times and only certain ages apply. They're hard to find because they're usually out in the middle of no where and for good reason. The rest is just mainstream now and grown into the fabric of party nitelife that anyone can be apart of with access to information.
Last underground rave I heard about was about 40 mins from here they had in a barn in the middle of nowhere. Wish I could've gone but I had to work bleh
Don't get it twisted! The RAVE Act is not out against us as a culture. It stands for Reducing Americans' Vulnerability to Ecstasy. If you feel that this will ruin our scene then you are here for the wrong reasons.
Separate raves from the "drug scene." There's no such thing as an 'anti-rave act' just anti-drug acts and stereotypes drugs have brought to the rave scene.
I don't. but normally police associate glowsticks electronic and the whole scene in general with x. I've seen Greensboro's scene go up and down, clubs shutdown, parties raided, since 1997. I've been around this town enough in the past 11 years to know what is thought of us ravers.
Dizzy G's
Fuzzy Duck
H20
all clubs that have been closed down due to a couple dumbasses fucking it up for us.
Lol as far as I can tell the rave act has not supressed us one bit since they snuck it in under the Amber Alert since they couldn't get it passed any other way that they tried it. The scene is just fine and I think they're doing an alright job of trying to seperate the people that are there for drug using and the people that are there to enjoy the music.
And the whole world, not just police associate those things with us. And of course there is good reason for that now isn't there

yea its an unfortunate link between things. Really though if reporters did an indepth look at our scene and every1 in it theyd see that the drug aspect is not the driving force behind everything and every1 here.

Well when we got this whole thing started it was not known what all went down at these parties and the littel bit of info there was was that everyone was getting messed up on drugs listening to music. So of course the media pushed that bar investigating undercover stories and such focusing on the immense drug usage. I have to admit our culture wasn't exactly trying to hide the fact they were fukd up while out in public. And it kills me when I see people talking about going to parties/raves and have no clue where they're going, who the dj's are or what they're spinning. They only cared and talked about getting messed up. Things never get better with people like that trying to hang out in our scene
that*s what they are, but in sum places a "rave" isn*t that go0d of a label to attach...
EXACTLY MY POINT
I was spinning at a halloween party last week and the cops came...... HMMMM TECHNO,,,, you guys getting fucked up? i LAUGHED IN HIS FACE. I wasn't even drunk, more less doing any drugs, neither was anyone else there!
