Default dancing advice - 08-30-08, 01:47 PM

I got interested in modern dance a few months ago and I recently faced the fact I still don't know jack about dancing. What I really need is for someone to make a tutorial on taking the moves for each style (popping, locking, krumping, etc) and actually using them on the floor.

also, I have a question for anyone who's used c-walking on the dance floor. does anyone really like it live? people in my community don't seem to care for it. or I might be just doing it wrong.

amen... very true, but u still need some knowledge of ways to express yourself. my best advice would be to go and watch. go to a party and take a look around, see what u like and incorporate it into your own style. it doesn't matter if your good or not, as long as u have some fun in the process.

Live without regret, face your struggles head on, trust in your heart, and above all else... never give up.

Yo dude i'm glad your taking an interest in modern dances... but these ppl are right man! you gotta dance to express... not impress... if i were you... i would go on youtube or something... and look up some krumping popping and locking and other vids.. and as u watch them... see what interests you the most... and once u find wich one interests u the most... stick with it no matter what and have fun with it, if you find an interest in something i have some experience in ill try to make sum tuts for you

Do what YOU want and let noone else tell you otherwise

Well it all depends what type of dance..
If you're willing to go freestyle (clubbing dance)then you just simply move to the music.. like you let yourself go

If you're willing to learn more specific dances like shuffling or C-walking.. you might want to check out tutorials on youtube.

If you're willing to make up your own dance style. Look up ''gliding'' on youtube. Learn some glides and the first basic step of c-walking. Then invent stuff and add it all to your dance. INVENT/CREATE YOUR OWN STYLE! Thats the best! But I always prefer when you let yourself go and move your body to the music.

I'd also suggest melbourne shuffling O:
