I dont mean to start out on a negatory post but this has been bugging me..Superstar DJs that cant mix..
Imho Tiesto, and Buuren ( i mention them cuz they used to be gods to me) need some very keen mixing practice.
for some reason..it. depresses me.
understood there more producers then DJs but come on.. if yer gonna put the headphones on at least show some respect for em.

i personally dont have a problem with Tiesto or AVB (dont listen to em all that much but i do enjoy it when i hear em) i do however have a problem with Oakenfold nowadays.

I agree with star-gazer. I'm not a huge Tiesto fan or AVB fan, but I can't stand Oakenfold. I haven't really heard many things mixed by Tiesto other than his albums though, which all seem pretty good to me even though I'm not the biggest trance fan.

Tiesto and Van Buuren are the #1 and #2 Dj's in the world. they didnt make it there by being crappy DJ's.

im not saying Oakenfold wasnt good or in that sense doesnt posses the skills bc his old stuff is great. But in the past few years hes either just been lacking, not trying, to drunk or a combo of stuff to perform well. EDC last year he sucked (in my opinion and a lot of ppl i talked to) i know TOOOONS of ppl in cludeing myself who think they shld have put Infected Mushroom on the stage on the field and stuck oakenfold in the corner stage that they were on.

I agree that Oakenfold's more recent work is not nearly as good. I am really sorry that Infected Mushroom seemed to be better at EDC. (Personally, not an IM fan)

What in particular about his set rubbed you the wrong way? You mention that he may not be trying anymore..... anything you can think of that made it seem that way?

As far as Tiesto and AVB, they may not have that "magic" anymore, but I will be the first to admit that something serious has to happen for me to miss their sets when they come within driving distance.

yeah i think they just bored with trying real hard after a while. the best dj's i have seen lately i have never heard of before ever and throwing down some shit. mostly dnb of late. question why is there so few well known jungle tribal dub step dj's. i mean there are a few dnb hotshots deiselboy, ak1200 dara but i have heard dnb from realitive unheard of dj's that blow them away

Personally I like Tiesto and AVB. Oakenfold saddens me, and so does DJ Rankin. DJ Rankin is made of epic SUCKsauce. I don't know how people can listen to his mixing, it's so poorly done. And not to offend people here, but Benassi sucks. I can't stand Benassi at all. Not even the song "Satisfaction". Ew.
