Default DJ and Promoter Contact/Networking Info - 10-21-07, 02:50 AM

Ok DJ's and Promoters lets connect and see how we can help each other out. Post a lil bit of key info about yourself and what u can offer along with your contact info. Let the magic begin!

I'll start it off...

Name is DJ Kenny Logic, My style consists of, House, Breaks, and Trance. I lean towards a Trance core when I produce. The style I usually spin is Vocal and Energetic Trance. I recently moved to Charlotte about a year ago to be closer to my significant other. I sunk into the scene pretty well if you ask me. As for booking details, I am flexible with what the offer is and I am a negotiable guy.

I do throw parties with my partner and my tasks consist of event coordination, promotions, etc... We are always open to any business proposals and are always seeking new talent.

Contact Info:

My name is DJ Shaidaa, but people call me DJ Wrath. Why? Long story. I'm a 17 year old FEMALE DJ (Special, yes). My style is Experimental. I experiment with sounds, And I don't have 1 basic music group I stick to when I make my own music. So some of my music can vary genres. I'm a bedroom DJ and I'm currently on a computer only. Once I get money, I'm getting myself some acctual DJing equipment along with a laptop to bring with me once I gain more experience in DJing. I currently havn't worked anywhere, but I've made many songs with various programs for school projects, and for my DAW music course I took in the past. I also have experience with using MIDI keyboards.

Once I create some awesome music, I hope to build my reputation as a DJ.

It did help me with getting some basi knoledge of djing and what it is like. I do try to make my own music, I try to go for the Techno, Electro kind of genre, but sometimes i might go off and do a lil diffrent kind of beat. Anyway I have some exp. with MIDI keyboard too, and i am purchasing my very own DJ sytem equipment when i move by the end of this yr. =D

My love for music started very early. I was raised on rock and classical. However as I grew older I began to stray from the norm when it came to listening to popular music. In my adolescent years in Orlando, FL I used to stay up on saturday nights and listen to the dance mixes that the local radio DJs would play. Although it was mainstream dancemusic ie: Robin S, Crystal Waters....it instilled a desire for more and began a stir inside me for something new and different.

A few years later and a few years older I moved to Gainesville to attend High School. It was here when I attended my first full scale event, The Annual Alachua County Music Harvest. I was blown away. Breakbeat/HOUSE DJs from all over the southeast layin down for 3 straight days. It changed my life forever. From then on I was obsessed with learning, finding, listening to all types of electronic music. Once this movement began inside me I learned of groups like Depeche Mode who had been revolutionizing the sound of electronic music in the 80's. Finally I discovered Daft Punk. These two French producers coined their own sound that started a trend for ALL filtered house producers. I heard the second single 'revolution 909' off their 'Homework' album. This single song pulled me in hook line and sinker. It was down hill from there. The foundation was being layed from this point on.

Soon after this eye opening experience I snuck into Club Simons to witness what real DJs did best. Letting loose on the floor was the release and passion I was looking for back in Orlando hearing the clubtunes on the radio. I soon moved to Charlotte, NC where the rave-scene was in full force and I wanted to be part of it. So I managed to befriend a few local DJs and began my education. These DJs were my teachers. DJs MEZMER, FUZZ, Str8jakit had all been DJing and producing music for almost 10 years at this point and I was the eager student to learn all they were able to teach. My love for HOUSEmusic was stronger than ever and I wanted to express this love and passion somehow to all that I met. The next logical step was to learn the art of mixing. So i scrapped up some cheddar and bought my set of 1200s and a numark3 channel. The next 3 years were spent staying up all night mixing and partying on the weekends. As one can might imagine, my parents werent too happy with my lack of desire for real schooling, so I took a break from college and spent even more time behind the decks and more time on the dancefloor.

Over the course 3 years DJ Mezmer and I drove all across the east coast to gigs in DC, Detroit, Roanoke, Greensboro, Greenville, SC/NC, Asheville, Atlanta, Raleigh, Tennessee, you name it he & I were there. The time I spent in the booths with him while he demolished dancefloors were some of the most emotional times I have ever experienced in my life. Soon after I moved to Charleston, SC where I became the only HOUSE DJ of Stillill Entertainment. The drive of Stillill's founders, DJ N8 & Abraxas, to push dancemusic of all types has helped bring their crew to the forefront of the breaks scene in SC. After 4 more years and I am here in Columbia, SC finishing my degree in the Studio Arts program. House made me a believer in something more to life and I am determined to show everyone the same feeling I get when I first heard it. I specialize in filtered, disco, tech, electro house. Ill see YOU on the floor!

The history of DJ Prueph. In 1995 I had just graduated from high school. I had just saved up $2000 and was going to buy a car. I couldn't get the loan myself and I couldn't get a co-signer. So, I went and bought some turntables. I got some Gemini tables, got them home and set up. I go to cue my first record. Which was," the Beastie Boys, Licenses to Ill." As I let go of the record there was a slow drag. I tried it again, same thing happened. So I packed my tables back up, took them back to the music store, and got me some Technics. The first six months I didn't have a clue. It was about a year before I played my first rave. I played a few house parties. Then my first real gig. It was a Sunday night at Scorpio's after the drag show. My good friend Fuzz hooked me up and it was an awesome experience. After that I played the Charlotte and Raleigh scene for a while, then Columbia and Greenville. I was a resident dj for the Latino House and Area 51 in Charlotte. Where great things happened. One night I was playing in the side room at Area51. Right in the middle of my set. I was pumping it as loud as it would go, mixing these two records, which I'll forever love because of this. The croud was going crazy, both records were starting to build up. The vibe was about to blow the roof off of this place. Everyone was going nuts. Then..... right as the records were about to break. I overloaded the curcuit, the power cuts off, and the croud was "awwwwwwwwwwww" and I just start laughing at the top of my lungs. I knew, I just blew this mother up. I loved that place. I opened up for Dieselboy one night and it was a packed house of about 3000 heads. There's nothing like having a sea of people all vibing to your groove. Then shortly after, the scene in Charlotte died. The QC has never been the same. That was by far the best time of my life. "living like a rockstar." So, I started back to school. While in school, I was traveling to Myrtle Beach on the weekends to play at Friends and Industry where I was resident. I got to meet alot of tourist. Which got me to another level. I've played from NY to Miami and as far west as New Orleans. While in school, I got a broadcast journalism degree and started working in radio for HOT92.7 a hip-hop station. Where I got to meet all kinds of celeb.s from Jay Z and the Rocafella family, Ludachris, Mary J, and Usher just to name a few. One time in Jackson MS, I was playing at an outdoor amphitheater, headlining with Jeffee a junglist from Florida. I was the only breaks at a D&B party. In the middle of my set a train passes by. It was so loud you couldn't hear anything but the train and I guess that's where the term train wrecking came from. So I turned the music down. I matched the music to the beat of the train and brought the music back in and the croud went crazy. Now, it's years later, I'm in Charleston, and they just don't know what's about to hit'em. Default old school turntablist - 06-23-08, 07:34 PM

I'm new. this is my first post. been DJing on vinyl for 12 years. playing Chi, DC, FL, etc. played every style and recorded numerous mix tapes (live, not altered). We can't let it die, but we must know the difference in the amount of skill it takes to hit buttons like sync, start, and stop vs turntablism. make the party real in order to preserve our culture. Get up with me and let's have some fun this summer, locally! Next month I am being flown to SanFran and something is also in the works for Knoxville (again). I would love to say I met at least one raver in NC.

I'm a promoter / DJ out of Utah and am looking to do trades with other promoter DJs. Or for any promoter that just has an open time slot I will fly out to you and spin all at my own expense just to show you my skills behind the decks, just hook me up with a decent time slot. I've earned myself A timeslot at WMC this year, also I have earned a rin Alaska as well. I have clips on Youtube so you can see my style live just look up DJ Quack Quack.
