Besides scratching and showmanship, whats the appeal of even using turntables?
Do the cd players with the scroll wheel type thingy actualy feel like the real thing?
Whats the deal with time coded vinyl, isn't that realy the holy grail of djing? The blend between classic and digital (of course u cant match the sound of vinyl though)
theres not much of a rave scene out here, but my fear isnt that people wont show (i wont go into it but i know people will come) its that i absolutely HATE club rap and i doubt any of them will know any trance music, any tips on getting the people on there feet? i guess mixing in some more famous electronica, like sandstorm or some zombination?
and of course what sudgestions would u have for a good set up? i have all the power (amplifiers) i need, i have great headphones (i own a recording studio) and i have a laptop on its way. i was planning on picking up virtual vinyl, but then i still need,.... everything els....
WOAH that was a long post haha. well ya got plenty of probably stupid nooby questions to answer there.
OH and my friend is having a rave soon, but has no location, he DOES have a cornfeild near his house though, what are your veiws on outdoor raves?

This was posted a while ago but i guess i can contribute incase anyone else wants to peak at it.
The appeal of using turntables Vs CDJ for me at least is a more intimate feeling with the music. with vinyl its direct contact between you and the tune. theres no jog wheel to go thru.
provided that you have good turntables the pitch resolution is going to be much better on a turntable then on a CDJ unless you maybe have the top of the line pioneers.
also are you dead set on mixing trance? break beat like the prodigy or something like that might be a little more friendly to your enviroment.
aannd lastly as far as getting a good setup i stick to the holy trinity of djing..Technics, Stanton, and Pioneer. *and Shure cartridges heheh*

Numarks not bad either but there more for the budget dj
