what is some good gear to get started with? I have done a couple songs with my usb keyboard and acid music software but i wanting to get some tables and a mixer.

it depends entirely on your budget, and if u know u this is somthing you realy want to do. If it is, then my logic is, buy equiptment you will never have to replace/upgrade, and just add to it as you continue. if you can, work on someone elses rig a bit, you may love it, or you may decide you like being part of the crowd better. but i think befor anyone can give you much helpfull advice you need to tell us if this is somthing you will be in long term, and what your budget is

I use Reason for my drum's and basslines, and sub-bass". I use a lil program that EVERYONE knows of: Frootyloops (oh yeah.....i said it), also try Abelton, Acid Pro, Logic.....it just depends on what type of sound u want.

The USB keyboard is cool too...i use an m-audio USB MIDI keyboard....

ohhh okay. im a little absesive compulsive an all i can think about right now is my turntables that ar coming, so for some weird reason i thought u were trying to get into djing. My studio's designed for rock/blues recording, cuz i dont make much electronica, but ive heard amazing things about ableton (think i spelled that wrong...)!
