I never liked behringer, keep in mind there the wal-mart of mixers,
but heres a few points
gain control nobs, awful i hate the way behringer does them *i had a dx626* and its almost impossible to get the volumes level because there just not smooth enough.
Crossfade suckage, it even feels cheap, plus my experience is the sound tends to pop in instead of glide,
annoying ass backround hum can be on any cheaper mixer tho.
and ya, however if you really really want one mine is just sitting there collecting dust i could pass it on to ya brotha

I paid 100 for 103 records, but i only like about half. Im going to sell the rest on ebay, but they arent trance or breakbeat. im keeping those

still a good deal... average vinyl i paid for is around 10- 12 bucks.

unless your like me, desperate to learn and willing to make the mistakes to get there...

I keep hearing people say 4 channel.... 4 channel...... cant you just hook the tables to phono (which is how mine are hooked up) and the cdjs (which I DON'T have) into line in, and use the toggle???????

of course you can. thats why they are there....

but sometimes i want to add things to the mix, or get the next track beatmatched and cued up quickly.

whats wrong with 4 fading channel mixers man?

besides i think equipment is a personal thing. some want more, some want fancy, and some want expensive ?

Pricey, lol unless yer pullen some carl cox shit *3 records on at the same time* wich is fun to do on occasion. you really dont need more then a 2 channel mixer *providing you have two turntables and two CDj's if you have two turntables and one cdj a 3 channel mixer is advisable*

4 channel mixer is also looking forward to the future. you never know what you will want or need to do; if you buy a mixer thinking "this is the only way i mix" and then change your mind later, you have to buy a new mixer. with a 2-channel, you always ave to switch stuff around, its like moving into a friends one-bedroom apartment. everything will fit, but you would much rather have your own room.

plus, since you mentioned the phono./line switch, that means most 4 channel mixers have 7-8 channels, not 4. you can put turntables, cdjs, samplers, drum machines, fx pads, whatever. its not about excess, its about upping your game. just because you can get by with 2 channels dont mean its the best way, you can always do new stuff with your setup.

also behringer sucks because its made like a playschool toy; cheap plastic, cheap wires, cheap connections. its like someone telling you a datsun is as good as a mercedes because they're the same size and they both have gas pedals and steering wheels. that not why mercedes is expensive, its the engine and the quality and the long life and the way it feels to use.

I have yet to buy a set up but all my friend spin. Behringers are bad because the levels are all fucked up on my friends. The bass will suddenly drop and pick up. They suck. So do Geminis. But that doesnt mean they wouldnt be a good first set up.
