They both are both pretty innovative, but also are pretty gimmicky. Yes, it would be pretty convenient to use an iPod to DJ with. But what happens if one deck dies? Is it replaceable or do you have to buy a new mixer? What is the cycle life on the faders? And if one snaps off, how difficult is it to replace? What if the LCD screen stops functioning? Can it still be used as an analog mixer? Can it accept other incoming signals, like if you wanted to use 4 turntables? These are some of the things to look at when buying any piece of equipment. And this is debateable, but pretty much 1 mixer and at least two incoming sound sources is the tried and true method. Just for the ability to replace, repair, and improvement and expansion.
