new, maybe. used technics, maybe. but a used dj-in-a-box, i wouldnt buy it. that means someone else who doesnt know how to dj bought that, used it, and then tried to resell it once they decided it wasnt for them. if you're gonna go dj-in-a-box route, its not a bad idea for learning, but you dont wanna do that used.

its more than half the price. im not saying its a good setup, but its worth the money if its in good shape.
if its not for you, re sell it asap. get your money back, or take it back.!!! and get store credit.
i know techs are one of the if not the best turntables out there for dj's but i was gonna buy a used pair for 300, and i went ovet to the guys house amd he had beat them up so bad,. the dots on the platter were worn, giving me an indication they were used alot, they were a few years old. also, the rcas were replaced, the brake had been incoreclty adjusted, and the kid took out click in the pitch, and changed the lights, wow 300 for a pair of shitty used technics.... now i was kinda weary, and the kid even mentioned it wont cost ya much to get hte tone arms replaced, learn how to fix them up paint htem , i laughed ... i said you are kidding me.
if they look like they were taken care of, they may be worth a shot to spend as little on the equipment as you can for now, and buy some music, good needles, and spend 20-20$ on goo sony headphones from bestbuy or walkmart even has them. since i broke my sencond pair of 150 dollar headphones i bought 20 dollar ones nad they work jsut finr for being at home...
i dont mean to badger with ya ablist, i jsut think if hes competley fresh, he should spend the least that he can to see if he wont get it. or if he loves it and has possible talent.
ive seen and met some people that just cant count the music, or understand structure, yet they bought good stuff to begin with and brag about being a dj, ha.
then they sell their stuff. and never going back to it.
personally if he can squeeze out 250 bucks for a complete dj setup with some vinyls, thats worth it, being he wont loose much if he dont stick with it.
if oyu knwo you want to mix and be a dj. then by all means buy a technics but same for them, if they are in good shape.....
