This is a discussion on easiest way to learn to do a lightshow within the Freehand Discussion forums, part of the Glowsticking discussion category: whoa whats plurrmk?...
well i guess i'd go with plurr because thats all fine and good but kindness kinda goes with respect and moderation could apply to anything not just drugs so i don't want to me like a moderate poi spinner or something oh no its an addiction haha.
I know this thread is kinda old but I feel I need to give him atleast something to work with other than "practice" and "shake the shiny thing at the etard"...
If you want to do a good lightshow I reccommend freehand glowsticks but LEDs can work too if you really want.
The main thing you are going for with personal light shows for one person is more than just putting lights in their eyes because they are on drugs. A GOOD lightshow will work whether the person is rolling or not. What you want to do is play tricks with the lights that the mind has a hard time putting together. Simple things you can do are tutting routines where the sticks look like they become one, but then you pull them out in a straight line to show there are two. I'm famous for my dragonfly...aim one stick toward the viewer and holding the other behind the stick you wiggle to stick to give the visual of a dragonfly beating its wings. The goal is to play mind tricks where the sticks either become things they are not, or to make the viewer believe that you are doing "impossible" things with them...make them "disappear" or bend them in wierd angles.
The only real way to see what works is to use two different colors and face yourself in a mirror. Just see how you can make two colors seem as one or make one color disappear (without putting it in your pocket). It is mind games and illusions that make lightshows what they are...not the drugs.
it's been a while since i made this thread, so i decided to come back and update on my progress. im pretty freakin good at freehanding now
thanks for the input btw =]
