so i can do some transitions and stuff i am new to the site i dont normally freehand i usually throw my sticks so is there any hints or tips or vids u guys could show me so i can get better

youtube most if it, just watch and learn.

then go to events, watch and learn...

then practice...

is there anything in particular you want to learn?

like i said i really dont do freehand stuff so i dont know the moves or anything so any sugestions on what to look up

yeaaah. i want someone to post more videos of freehand. it seems like this site is predominantly stringing and i don't want to learn that. i want to freehand with my sticks and finger lights, and i realize that watching live and practice is the majority of it. but there is no rave scene here in virginia and i'd like to practice while i'm here before i go back into the rave scene at home at the end of the year so i can perform awesome lightshows. i have this idea i'm going to try of getting the finger lights and putting them under my gloves on my index and pinky finger, because i hold my sticks on top of my two middle fingers and underneath my pinky and forefinger (like devil horns, i guess) so i was going to cut small holes in the tips of the end fingers so the finger lights would show through, and then i could set those on various strobe or solid combination, while freehanding with my sticks... i think it would look pretty awesome. i thought about incorporating photons if the finger lights didn't turn out as cool as i imagine, but i want something that i don't have to support with my hands as gripping the sticks for hours gets tiring and crampy.

I feel ya on the freehand vids brotha, i def. love freehand, and just watching vids of people doing it isn't really enough, some of the moves are freakin' awesome, but i can't figure it out unless it's in slow-mo or up close... but that sounds pretty sick with those finger lights while holding the sticks, you gotta do a vid of that man

That sounds like a pretty cool idea
And i completely agree.
I'm into freehand only, although I like watching stringers as well.
Hopefully I can get a vid up soon.
