Default Practicing traces - 04-11-08, 12:59 AM

How do you guys practice traces? They're something that seems easy, but getting them down to look just right can be hard for beginners. Personally I like mine to look like the glowstick or LED just barely glides against my body. At the risk of sounding crazy, to avoid pushing down to hard I actually used to practice with a really sharp knife.

Made me kind of nervous going around my neck, but now I can go fluidly enough that i dont even flinch. And it makes for a great party trick.
So how did/do you guys practice?

Disclaimer: Everything i say is wrong. I like to argue because I think it's dumb to watch everything you say because you're scared of offending someone who's over-sensitive. I'm very sarcastic, people tend to take offense quickly to random things I say, I have a sense of humor and I apologize for it.
Happy?

personally, i just trace parts of my body over and over until it looks fluid. i usually have to do it A LOT more with my left hand because its retarded and doesnt like to cooperate. i kinda play around with things that i think look cool. if i find something i like, i keep practicing it until i can remember it and its looks good. but yeah. i just do random traces and try to link them together in some way that looks good.

and yeah. cant say i would trace with a knife. i might be kinda crazy, but ive cut myself enough times on accident anyway

knife traces sound intense, i almost ran to try it and then remembered that bleeding isnt good for my health.

To practice my traces i run through a trace for a while with one hand, then the other, and put em together. Before i did this i found that my right hand went pretty smoothly, ut my left always traced to slow or out of sync.

traces... you get what you put into them. they dont feel or look stunning if you dont put much time into it... but if you practice and get to smooth, they are killer...

i just practice through reps. if anything i would advice the use of heavier materials, like 3 lbs. weights.
