Strobe FX and what to do with them

Hello people.

I am not sure if this should be in Freehand or not (I would assume so but it could be in Glowsticking too... you guys can move it accordingly /shrug).

Anyhow, I am learning how to freehand, albeit a bit slowly because due to an accident I have impaired usage of my left hand. So, I have these toys that I absolutely love that are called Strobe FX. For those of you who don't know what they are, they are a discontinued rave toy that are basically a soft white ball on the end of a stick with LEDs inside, and buttons that cycle through 20-something modes and different speeds for each one. It's controllable by a button and yada yada. Very fun to whip around.

I was wondering if any of you had any experience with them at all? What do you do with them? I mostly do figure 8s and butterflies in front of me and over and around my head and such, or at raves wave them in people's closed eyes... I use mode 3, rainbow, but it would be cool to cycle through all the modes while dancing to get different effects. I'm still working on the logistics of that, though.

Here's a video of mine that the bf took whilst I gave a Strobe FX light show... the end is better than the beginning and the entire thing is nothing special but I'd really like some critique and ideas as to what to do with them.

The end is honestly better. So go to that! Also keep in mind that when I dance for a person (light show for a space cadet) I dance differently than when I dance just to dance (i.e. telling them to close their eyes and putting it over their eyelids etc etc etc)

I don't know! Critique me! It's bad but I want some new material for Pop next week ^___^

ok rabb1t. first of all i need to meet up with you because your in SO CAL.... : ) i would love to be a personal raver trainer! hahahha

anyways.

Strobe FX.

-i have used this on occasion and they are fun, to say the least. because of the obvious reasons they are kind of limiting.

Here is a list of fun things you can do with them that makes people fall over....

They have 20 different modes.... USE all of them!
the switching of modes is one of the craziest things you can do... especially when they just start getting used to one of them ( they tend to fallow the lights and sink away... BOOM... next mode!)

do small circles with just your wrists around each other... then make them bigger and bigger... then smaller and smaller...

keep one still and do circles around it with the other one... switch off...

there is a mode when it blinks and if you wiggle them all around it looks like random balls are just floating there .... that one is cool!

you know the gymnastics with the ribbons? the twirling and circles and all that? do some of those moves! ...

don't be afraid to just wiggle them ... thats where the fun is!

maybe i should meet up with you and do little demos for all your products! heheehe

i love strobe fx. i had some but thay got lost somewhere along the way. i tied each one of mine in a knot to get better control over them otherwise thay flew all over the place with that long flexable cord.

I will practice with them a bit tomorrow and then probably wave them around like a loony at Pop
