Default What toy is this? - 07-17-08, 03:16 PM

I cut out the parts from the video because the video is private, but can anyone tell me what toy this is from the cut out pics of the video? It looks like some laser beam type toy where you turn it on one end and it shines a laser, kind of like the swords from starwars, and you can actually see the laser beam at night. Heres the pic http://img357.imageshack.us/my.php?i...erlightzz5.jpg

Sorry, I've got no clue....can't really tell much from the pic and I've never heard of anything like what you described. I do like lasers though! I've got a 50 mW green laser pointer that totally kicks ass...you can see the whole beam and point out stars in the night sky! Plus awesome little laser shows if you get a water bottle or even better...a bud ice bottle.

It's really hard to tell from the blurriness of the photos, but it just MIGHT be an Argon Laser Pointer. APLs are nearly always green in color and are pretty bright.

lightsandlasers (or the other way around) has some strong laser pointers. I would check out there galaxy one though if I was in the department for a strong laser. It has a filter (you can take it off, but tis hard although than you get just a strong beam) and it makes it into like 100 dots on the ground. It makes anything with lights intense.

Yeah....high-powered laser pointers are AWESOME! Just don't point em in people's eyes!!!! (or at cars/planes....illegal). I have one that's 40 mW green. It kicks ass....people love it. On a dark night, you can see the entire beam and can actually point to stars in the sky. The light is visible 10+ miles away. It's also really sweet with some fog at a party....you can make sick planes of laser light that show the swirling of the fog....or you can use a bottle of water/glass/clear bottle to refract the light to make awesome light-shows.

Just to give reference to the power rating....your standard 'laser pointer' (the crappy red key-chain ones) are rated at about 1-5 mW and red light is 6X less visible than green light. If you want a REAL laser pointer, go on Ebay....and look for the green ones that are more than 5 mW. Mine was $40 with shipping....not bad for how incredible it is. Also, you can check out www.wickedlasers.com be sure to check out the videos they have on there of the lasers lighting matches, popping balloons, melting trash bags and cutting through electrical tape....Ah-MAY-sing!! Mine can't do all that, but it's ridiculously bright and the beam is clearly visible in the dark.

Oh....for the record, anything above 5 mW is illegal to sell in the US, so you'll have to buy online.

I saw something like this a week ago at the beach. They shot a wire comb for a couple seconds and it shot over the beach and far into the ocean. It was tight
