Well, I will admit that I don't use the 2 beat weave nearly as much as the 3, but knowing how to do it is absolutely ESSENTIAL. It will help greatly with flow and learning many more advanced moves (believe it or not). I'm right handed and I find it easier to lead with my L hand for the 2 beat forward. However there is another version in the same direction that leads with the R. Maybe this will be easier for you. In the forward 3 beat weave, when you cross over to the L side leading with your R hand, just do a figure 8 on its side kinda motion and always keep the R hand on top. Likewise, when leading with the L for the 2 beat weave, the L hand always stays on top. Definitely take the time to learn both versions of the forward 2 beat weave (leading with either hand) then changing that into the three (which you already know). It might almost be harder to move backwards after knowing the 3 beat, but you still should learn this. Likewise, when you start reverse weaves, learn both 2 beats and then the 3 (or whatever order works best, but learn all of them). Check out my '
weaves 101' tutorial as it describes how to do all of this. Maybe try learning the 2 beats in regular time like you're jumping rope (the hand motions are the same as the cross-armed move whatever it's called).
