so it seems like one of the biggest problems i'm having learning glowstringing is i dont do well learning by watching videos, i'm more of the type of learner who has to see it right in front of them. so i'm thinking i need some sort of glowstringing mentor who can show me what the heck i'm doing wrong and why i cant get this stuff down haha

I'm going to be in California for nine days pretty soon. It wouldn't be anything permanent but if you wanna meet up and string or something I'll be happy to teach you a few things. I'm not amazing but i've been told im good at teaching.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people say this. I live far from you so I can't directly help you. However, I can indirectly help. My advice is to be active in your regional group and watch for meet-ups. This is a great way to meet people from the site and work on moves in person. Good luck!

you can also look for local poi groups (I just discovered one here in portland, I'm super exicted!!) since the moves are similar, it might help...

by the way, I feel your pain - I am a kinesthetic learner, so basically until someone makes my hands move in the pattern once, I can't figure it out or retain it. Hard to get from videos:-)

chaaaaa most people are like that. it annoys me a tad when i spend forever trying to learn a move from a video then once i have it i teach it personally to a friend and they get it in minutes haha.
