Glowstringing has been so freakin eventful for me lately!!! so many new moves... so much awesome!!! I can hardly contain myself! I didn't even realize how quickly i was learning these things until last night when i found myself doing 4 moves. 3 of which i had never even attempted before, and didnt know how to do lol.

in the last month i have learned(as of june 29th)

crosser&straightjacket - forward and reverse

3 beat btb weave - forward and reverse

butterfly weave

better wraps =P

2 beat wallplane weave - forward and reverse, both sides

thumb splits

and palm spins!!!

but wait!!! Just last night... one night i learned all of these!!!

buzzsaw fountain

butterfly buzzsaw fountain(i've never even seen it done b4)

4 beat corkscrew - forward and reverse

4 beat windmill - forward and reverse

I can't even explain how it feels!!! and to think... just like 2 nights ago i was thinking that It'd be forever before I learned a new move lol!!!!

now there's only one thing left to work on... TRANSITIONING!!! I NEEEEEED to work them all into a show!!! and make a vid!!!

Congrats!

Tricks/moves are great, but transitions are what seperate good from great. It always takes me a while to get comfortable enough with new moves to be able to incorporate them into my spins.

Congrats! How long have you been stringing?

Im the same way with transitions. Once I get the trick/move down I then gotta figure how to start the move with out completely stopping.

i've been stringin for a little over a year... june 27th 2007 i started =P

I have transitioning with all of them down except for the moves i learned last night lol...

lol the only move that's buggin me is the 4 beat windmill... it's like back when i started stringing... I keep hittin myself in the face lol

ahh 4bt n 5bt windmills.. fun stuff. if you're doing it forward, you're pretty much doin the same exact movent as a wallplane weave, but instead of plantin your arm under your arm pit.. keep it with your other hand (this is the 4th or 5th beat depending) then throw that shit straight in front of you (on the audiences plane of course) once ya figure that out, forward and reverse comes easy.

as far as your butterfly buzzsaw fountain, how are you doing it? are you doing it with the same motion as a regular fountain(as in goin from the side to lower front to your other side then to top front?) or like a butterfly fountain??<--which is the correct way of doin it (p.s. ive done this in on of my older vids

)

yeah lol it's pretty exciting... iono with the 4 beat windmill, i can do it... its just i flinch hardcore lol, cuz when i first learned it last night a caught myself in the eye lol.

Dude, that's awesome, Smile!!! That's truly a lot to cover in a month!! I wish I was that productive!!! I'm glad you're doing so well. You should have seen the butterfly buzzsaw fountain if you've ever watched my 'advanced buzzsaws' tutorial....it's totally in there along with antispun and another variation. That's a fun move....I like to do it while turning.

As far as 5 beat windmills goes....HOW THE FUCK!? A regular windmill is 2 beats, when you do the extra (5-beat-esque) rotations on both sides it becomes a 4 beat windmill (if you do the extra rotation on just one side it is a 3 beat), but how do you get another beat!? I'm perplexed and I wanna know how!

wait so you're saying if one does the '5bt esque' on both sides its only a 4beat?? hows that work? lol it doesnt seem to make sense to me..

i guess if thats not a 5bt windmill then you're gonna have to add that extra bt with a tangle.. like a tangled 7bt weave ya know? thatd probably be uber hard tho lol

thank goodness for you lol... i wrote an entire explanation and then i lost my internet connection... so... POOF!

the hand positioning/motions are exactly the same for the 5 beat weave, 4 beat corkscrew, and 4 beat windmill.. literally exactly the same, you ARE doing the exact same hand movements, the difference is that when doing it on the planes of the corkscrew and windmill, your arms cant twist up the way they do on a regular weave plane, so that 5th beat doesnt work its way in there.

hmm weird lol. i read this and went at it for a couple minutes studying my arms and hands on both planes.. they're definately twisting up the same.
