Lets see. I can only do the reverse btb right now. (I think I've almost got the forward) But what I've learned (and this applies to just about everything) is don't be afraid to move. I'm normally leaned back a little and when the poi cross sides I have to bend my knees just a little and turn with it. It helps me keep my hands closer so it looks better. Other than that I'd just say practice.

yea the BTB is all about body movement you gotta sort of move with it you just cant stand still because then thats when you start getting hit and they tangle and all that good stuff.

Yeah, I got the btb weave like half way down...
Like I can't transition into it, but if I start from a certain point, I've almost got it to where I can do it in front on one side, then btb, then on the other side, then I hit myself...
So I guess you'd say I can do it one time, but I'm just trying to learn the movements for it, so I almost have it down...
But this thursday, I have a feeling of us some of us coming are going to be able to help some of the other of us with a few mountains...
I'd absolutely love anyone to death if they can help me get flowers/fountains down... I forgot which one it's called, but I can do it with both hands one at a time, I'm just having a hell of a time trying to get it down doing them at the same time in split time.

im gettin closer to it. thats my main move i want to learn. im still figuring out the movements, mainly just getting positioned right when the poi are swinging.
i think i'll try defying gravity, kiss me goodbye im defying gravity and you cant hold me down!

Okay, here's my two copper Lincolns.....this shit is way hard...like ridiculously hard...that's all there is to it. It took me about 3 months of solid work to get this down the first time. Now BTB weaves are natural for me and no problem, but it's REALLY hard to learn initially. However, it's WELL worth the effort, trust me.
With that said, here are a few hints.
-Practice one-handed first....two rotations on the opposite side, on on the same side. Do both hands till you're super good at it.
-Learn the 2 beat BTB weave first with either hand on top. Just a figure 8 one hand leads, the other follows. Once you have both down, you just kinda put em together and it gives you a 3 beat weave...it's the first 2 beat that's gonna be the hardest.
-The hand motions of the rev. 3 beat BTB weave are the same as the regular rev. 3 beat weave, EXCEPT that when you cross to a new side, you will cross OVER the other hand rather than UNDER as you would do normally for a reverse 3 beat weave. Likewise, in forward BTB weaves, you cross UNDER rather than OVER.
-**Remember to extend your arms really really far to the opposite side to prevent hitting your back/legs** This is important (hence the double asterisk) and I think this is one of the most common problems.....OVER-EXAGGERATE the motions.
-Also, I hope you're using poi cause glowsticks will be slightly more difficult to learn this on....and once you have it down with poi, glowsticks will be a pretty easy transition.
I hope that helps ya out somewhat. Good luck! It's worth the wait, effort and pain.
Feel the beat from start to stop, dancin' and groovin' from bottom to top!

Thanks for the tips lilraverboi...
I use sock poi to learn, then I use glowsticks to do it on...
But here's what I'm stuck on... I can do it really good if I start with one hand behind the back, and I can do it all the way until I have the other hand around my back on the other side cuz then my hands get tangled abd I can't do it..
So basically I can do it one time, I just can't get down being able to do it over and over...
But I'm sure I'll pick it up this thursday.

I was practicing this in the park earlier today with a buddy (He joined the site a couple weeks ago, I finally have someone to spin with!) and I finally got it. Given, it's hella sloppy and I only get a few rotations, but I could feel it and see what's going on. Kinda excited about it.
Oh, but how this is all applicable... I got to thinking about it and I know I don't do this too often; but what I understand most people do is you have to aim with your poi to make them go where you're supposed to. (I'm wacky, I think that's why it takes me a while to learn stuff) Right now mine only lasts for a little while is because I just let my hands go places and it works for a few. BUT!, if you kinda aim where they're supposed to go and rock with the poi I think that'll help. I'm gonna spin some more later on tonight. I'll give an update on what I can figure out if there's any progress.
I'm realizing a lot of this may not make sense. Then again it may make perfect sense to some. Who knows?

btb was sooo horrible for me... lol i learned to do waistwraps b4 i learned the btb weave.
i remember when i first saw a btb weave in person... it was the coolest thing ever!!! i thought "i can do this no prob!" lol i was totally cocky because i tought that person most of what he knew. but alas... i failed... miserably...
with a lot of hard work and practice... i can officially do a btb 3 bt weave...
the 2 beat is a different story...
i still fail...
*sob*
