After you learned a move, how long would you wait to learn the next move?
How did you know when you were ready to learn the next move?

How do I know when I am ready to start learning moves?

I don't think it really matters how fast you learn moves, as long as you can get them right
You know you've got a move down when your planes stay straight/parallel and it looks good in a mirror. Also if you can make it flow nicely into other moves, you know you've got it down. But as for waiting to learn new moves, it shouldn't really matter. You could be learning as many as you want at a time. This makes me remember how good it felt when I was learning all the fundamentals of stringing, like when u first get a move down. Feels friggin awesome

Oh ok that makes sense. Thanks, that really helps

Ya learning the fundamentals of stringing is a lot of fun. I haven't gotten any moves down yet but I am looking forward to my first one, I have been working on the hand movements for the weave and I have almost got it down. I know the feeling that you are talking about though, when I land a new trick for the first time when I am wakeboarding, it is the best feeling

Thanks for the the help

I have another question lol.

You have been stringing a long time and what I want to know is:

Do you have any problem with your wrists? You probably do it everyday, so do you know if it is hard on your wrists?

Not that it will stop me from doing it. I was just thinking about it the other day and wondering if stringing was hard on your wrists.

uhhh, nope! If anything it makes them more flexible. I have been learning a lot more btb moves lately and I realize you have to bend your wrists back there pretty far, and I imagine it justs make them more flexible cuz they don't hurt^^

However I am new, I can answer your question. I have been Glowsticking for a few weeks now, I can do a few moves, and I am working on more. As for your wrists hurting, if your doing it daily, they will hurt but you will eventually get use to it, and it will stop hurting as much..

As for learning the weave, I learned it by myself, I usually learn it all with online tutorials, and then teach my friends about it, and everything. They have the easy way, having it explained in real life is much easier then having it explained online.

I actually messed up the first time I did it, I am not suggesting you should mess up on purpose, but start with the 2 Beat Weave, which is what I was doing, once you get this down (Which is just doing a cross motion over and over) Your fine.

If you practice going over and under on one side with both hands and can do that, and then you watch the slight motion one more time in a video, you should be able to slide your hand under while the other hand reaches for the other side of your body fairly easy, once you hit it you will know.

Ok thanks, Ya it's a dumb question but I was practicing the other day and my left wrist was sore from doing it for so long. I started thinking about it and I wondered if doing repetitive motions for so long was bad for the joints. You don't have any problems so I guess there is nothing to worry about. My muscles are probably just not used to those kinds of motions, especially my left hand since it isn't my dominant hand.

Thanks for answering my question

Could someone please make an extremely extremely dummified '5 beat weave for dummies' tutorial?

I've watched the ones that are here and for some reason I just can't get it... thank you...
