OK, so Orbitals are the death of me.
I'm beginning to think that the SHAPE of the ends of my sticks affects the orbitals. I've been biting the ends off of my glowsticks, turning hook tips into candle tips for so long, today I tried doing orbitals with hook tips and it seemed easier.
Does anyone have an opinion on whether Orbitals are easier with candle tips or hook tips?
lol. It doesnt make a difference how your hooks are shaped man. as long as you you do the motions right and u time it it right, ull do a perfect orbital everytime. orbitals are mainly practice and and alot of it. =)

Hook tips work well for moves (like weaves and butterflies, etc) cause they're... well, the weight of the stick is easier on the strings. The candle tips work best for wraps and manipulations. The only bad thing about hook tips is that the stick can fly off the string, hence in orbital, WATCH OUT FOR FLYING OBJECTS!
Honestly, I don't feel the hook type effects the moves that are possible with your glowsticks....similar to the type of strings you use....it doesn't matter, anything is possible if you practice enough and have the right direction of approach. Although, I will say, if you have the sticks with the hole and then the loop/hook above it....cut that shit off, cause it just gets caught on your strings.
Feel the beat from start to stop, dancin' and groovin' from bottom to top!

orbitals r all about timing and finesse.. ur split time needs 2 b pretty much dead on.. and ur strings hit 2gether closer 2 the stix than ur hands.. about 2/3 way up the string roughly.. when u pull, don't crank it like a lawn mower.. it's just a quick easy pull and ur off.. also, i find it works better if u pull up a bit rather than down or straight across.. that bit of elevation really gets it goin.. (i discovered this last night..)

hey, hey, it’s a beautiful day
it’ll be ok. it’ll be ok.

Thanks you guys. I've been glowsticking for almost a year and pretty much do it in total isolation. It's really really helpful and great to have the GXG community behind me. I was so frustrated last night and to wake up to all these posts, it's great!
THANKS!!!!!!!!

The only thing I've ever noticed with different hook tips (other than durability) is that some tangle more often than others when doing orbitals. For instance, I can't do exits using FireFly glow sticks because the tips are too square, but with anything else I'm usually fine.
