I say as long as you spread it- if someone asks how you do it then take the tiem and show them- teach them a few of the smaller moves- if people crack at you for being a e-tard, just ignore them (because someone WILL say something like that) and show people what 'ravers' are then GO FOR IT =D Show them the TALENT we have, and the beats that inspire us =D

I don't think It would really matter. I've seen it done..but awhile back.
Plur is of course Peace Love Unity and Respect. And glowsticking at a talent show doesn't really go against any of those.

As long as you are doing it in attempt to spread the joi of poi, and not trying to say your talent is superior to anyone elses....Pretty much as long as you don't think in your head it's a contest you want to win, and are just doing it for fun, then it sounds fine...At least that's how I'd view it... Actually, there will be fire poi at my friends birthday party this friday, and she wants me to spin, and I'm doing it for fun of spinnin fire, and not showing off...Kinda the same principle, right?

that sucks... I'm not, I'm for sure spinnin, but we're trying to find fire staffs....I kinda rock with them... And I owe gxg a vid of me staffing...But yeah, I would've, and if they call me e tarded, it's like, okay, let's see you try to do anything I just did without hitting yourself in the face with a glowstick?Like my mom ragged on me when she saw me do it because I was spinning some sick shit here in the living room and I ended up saying something like 'You know that looked badass' and she's like 'Congratulations, you can f*cking play with glowsticks well.'Some reactions you just ignore...

i performed at my schools talent show when i was just a 1 month stringer and i had mega fun doing it even though i lost i didn't care i had major fun and everyone enjoyed it.!

There's positive and negative reactions to everything. You string in public and a few things happen. Some people see it, enjoy it, and appreciate the performance. Then other people see it and turn into the malevolent creatures that human beings are. You're branded a drug user (I know I wouldn't appreciate it) and you likely won't live it down for a long time. But, you could go up there do a killer performance and win. I don't know, I think everything has an appropriate time and a place. It's all up to you.

I'm also assuming this is in High School? It's the only places I can think of that may have a talent show. Remember that teenagers are the dregs of the earth. They're malicious destroyers with no regard for anything that isn't immediately beneficial. There are obviously exceptions. Take all of this keeping in mind that I have a low opinion of the masses.
