Sweet tutorial, I know understand the concept that is the wonderful 7bt weave. I am however, not that flexible.

Nice tutorial! Yeah, the ending cracked me up too. Yeah, reverse is kinda scary to learn, but not hard once you figure it out. I actually just figured out a way to do 7 beats without the elbow lock...I got the idea after I saw Nick Woolsey do it in one of his vids. Still not 100% on it, but working towards.
Oh...and additional note for those learning this one: 3 beat, first hand crossing over is going to the opposite side (from R side, R hand crosser over to L side first), for 5 beats, first hand crossing over is crossing to it's side and for 7 beats, first hand crossing over is again going to the opposite side (from R side, crossing to L, R hand crosser first). Hope that helps someone.

Are you speaking of the poi tangling he does? I've been experimenting with it but I can't quite get it down. Every once in a while I can do a 7bt weave by tangling my poi, but not often. I'm really trying to get it consistent.

Nah...no tangles. You know me...for the most part, I'm a no tangles/orbitals/airwraps/hyperloops/wraps type of person. Well, except for wraps with glowsticks...gotta have that...mmm...spirals (well, I digress). But yeah, just 7 beat without strings coming in contact, without elbow lock...takes a bit of a stretch and some body twist. It's more about knowing how many times the strings need to rotate before crossing back. Once you have the 7 beats down with the elbow locks, you have the feel of it down and can play around with it more.

You have to be careful while doing this move. I had been practicing it for a few weeks and I was plenty flexible and I could do it fine but one day my shoulder popped while doing it. Now my shoulder hurts in certain positions, I can still string it just hurts a little sometimes now. I even stretched before hand, so be careful.

If there was a way to do a 7 bt that didn't involve the elbow lock I would be happy.

I've been trying the poi tangle thing lately and it's inconsistent at best, but I think I can see where it needs to go. I think it has a lot of potential to be a pretty cool thing.
