My suggestion is to practice a bunch with socks and get an affinity for spinning with the extra weight (maybe use tennis balls in them). Learn a good repertoire of moves including some weaves and butterflies with transitions from move to move. Once you are to this point, you can consider going further. You really don't want to do a burn until you are ready mentally (psychologically prepared for fire and knowledgeable of safety precautions, etc) and physically (comfortable with moves, fit enough to spin hard at least 5 minutes without being tired). Once you are very comfortable spinning, know some moves and have knowledge of the safety precautions (and use them!!) then you are ready to spin fire.

lilraverboi pretty much covered it. Burning fire is great fun when you get good at it. It's such an adrenaline rush! And it looks epic.

Drugs enhance the experience, they don't create it.

Yeah, I def prepared for months (practicing poi and with my fire wicks when I got them, researching, mentally preparing, etc) before ever doing a burn...It's a total rush when you do it, but not something to rush into unprepared!

as far as all that lilraverboi got ya covered as far as moves i would recomend some tuck turns easy lil move to change planes and direction of spin without wraps. i have heard of making sock poi with a tennis ball and used them i still prefer rice or beans or something like that no bounce worries and u can adjust the weight to your taste start with like a cup of rice to a sock
"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," say Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't though of that" and promply vanishes in a puff of logic.
