Here's my crappy tutorial to show the basics of learning flowers. I tried to show the main possibilities, but there are MANY more. I hope this helps someone.

yay! Good tutorial! I've been wroking on flowers this week and this is a great reference for some different possibilities. Do you ever do/is there a flower that is fully in front of you (like a regular butterfly)? I was playing around with that and getting some cool patterns.

Yeah, I didn't even cover those....there are some windmill butterflies (reg/antispun) and butterfly flowers (reg/antispun) and there are tons of buzzsaw flowers and buzzsaw fountains (a type of flower). As far as butterfly flowers in front of you, I like to do a turning butterfly flower combo where I do 4 petals in front of me, turn to the side 90 degrees and do 4 more petals at my sides, then turn to the back, do 4 petals of reverse butterfly and then turn to do 4 petals again at my sides....then back to the front. It takes a while to execute, but I think it's fun. Yeah, like I said....there are MANY more possibilities, this vid just covers some of the main ones that come to mind.

I've been needing one of these Bryan.
i just got my forward anti spin flowers down with my flow poi.
and i have forward reg and reverse reg spin, i just need to learn to turn with them.

Great tutorial thanks. There are a shit load of combinations you can do with flowers, I never really thought about how many there are.
