Hi guys,

I'm Nik. Most of my friends at raves or just in general call me "Mr.Massacre" or "Wrath" for short. I'm an upcoming Glowstringer. I actually just started Christmas of 2007. I am looking forward to learning bunches of new tricks and new styles of Glostringing. I would appreciate it if you guys would recomend some good toutorial videos for me. I only know the Weave (mastered it ^-^) a few wraps and traces and an UGLY windmill lol ^-^. uhm Thanks for all the help.

Welcome to GXG glad you could join us here... you can find all the tutorials here http://www.genxglow.com/f13/tutorial...orial-index-9/ i would recommend learning the reverse 3-beat weave / fountain / butterfly(forward and reverse) / the list actually just goes on and on, but those should keep you busy for a bit

Welcome to GxG! Thane beat me to linking our index, but we have a lot of tutorials there! There are a few repeats which might be helpful because people have different ways of explaining things. Thane lied though, that list will keep you busy for a long time, not just a bit! =P

Well, there are pretty much infinite moves, so you'll never be done learning tricks of the trade... well, you can use sock poi, which is 2 tube socks with some sort of weight in the end, i use a balled up tube sock, other people use tennis balls, that def. helps you with learning new moves, def. doesn't hurt as much when you get hit too. try different string lengths and styles, such as flat / round strings... other than that i can't really think of anything else, i'm sure someone else will think of a bunch more to help you though.

i use rice for my sock poi more weight and it give when u hit ur self but yeah. something i have noticed with strings is round strings spin faster and hurt while wraping flats spin slower but are super nice while wraping. oh i recomend giving handles a try 2 glowsticks on each end of each string

Is that style and different from the regular wrapping around the palm? I mean obviously it would be but is it easier or harder to control while like for instance doing the windmill

I'm a little confused by the question... but I think I'll take a shot at answering it anyway.

To clarify, handles look like this: (LOL)
Hold in hand
(GLOWSTICK|---STRING---|GLOWSTICK)

Now it feels a lot different then using your hands, but it's easier to learn certain moves, and harder for others. The thing with handles, is it's all about switching which stick is in your hand (It's better with two different colors, so you can tell when you switch).

For your basic moves, the tricky part is getting used to the feeling. Once you get used to it, moves that require reaching further or precise placements (i.e. most behind the back moves) are easier to learn. I learned the btb butterfly with handles (At CG Glow! =P).
