Default Learning order? - 04-16-08, 10:19 PM

Alright you guys, im a big fan of the site. Love it, read through tons of it, soon ready to get a LCD Poi Stick but i have some questions....

The stickied tutorial thread...LOVE it, but what order is the best order to learn things in? Like whats the first thing one should learn, then what? and then? You know? It'd be great for someone to gimme the order i should learn things in. I know most of the tutorials are in the Tutorial thread.

Second question, somebody posted a video a long time ago on how to make the Poi Stick stronger...something like taking off the plastic, and putting in an old Glowstick tube...or something?!? Thanks!

yea man the tutorial section at this place is excellent!
as far as your starting spots, there arent any specific moves that are deemed to be the 'first' one should learn, however there are a few that prove to be the base point for many other advanced moves.

some of these base moves might include:

2 and 3 beat weave (fwd and reverse)
butterfly
alternate arm wraps.

from there you should be able to pick up the rest of it with some degree of ease, just give it time man. hope you have fun with the site

I think I know what video you're talking about, but I can't remember if I actually do. I've used chains to spin fire poi, but not glow sticks. I use shoe laces for that.

Liquidmotions actually sells the light alone without the tube attacked, would make the modding process a tidbit easier at least, I think you save a buck or two as well.

That might be my next investment after I get some sock poi... I might end up weighting the end a little, but I think it'd be awesome to have reusable stuff.
