Default Moderate Tricks - 05-07-08, 03:45 PM

I'm pretty new to Glowstringing but I am fairly confident in my abilities. I was wondering if you guys could suggest any moderate level tricks I could try/practice to see if I'm good enough yet. Giving me tips/linking vids to help me practice these moves would be greatly appreciated

Here's what I can do so far (after 1 week):

Flowers
3-beat
Butterfly/Reverse Butterfly
Hammer
Chasing the Sun
beginning lvl Wraps (no variations)
Orbitals
Buzz Saw
Windmill (low & high)
5-beat

What I'm working on:

BTB Weave
Corkscrew/Figure 8

anything else I should try?

WOW!
corkscrew/figure 8 isn't really that hard Aquathane has the best tutorial for that, well I think it is anyways.

How long do you practice?

hard to say really, I've been pretty much addicted since I started. An hour here a few hours there. the other day I was just standing in one place in my front yard practicing my 5-beat and when i looked at my phone I had been standing there for 30 min. lol

so exact time, idk, but at least an hour a day. I try to learn 1 or 2 tricks a day, I've gotten 3 new ones down in 1 day before. It also helps that I'm a really fast learner when it comes to hand coordination

awesome stuff... always love a fast learning... you should check this thread out before trying new moves -- Performance Techniques -- once you have that, try BTB Weave (forward/reverse), Wall Plane Weaves, Crossers, and some Crossover Wraps... that'll keep you busy for a long while

also!... forgot to add, that you always ALWAYS want to learn every move you do in forward and reverse, you'll be able to get into and out of a lot more moves if you can do everything in forward/reverse

sweetness! Thanks Aqua

an amazing thread by lilraverboi!! I have already picked up on it a bit but this just emphasizes it. I look forward to learning to put on a good performance as well as learning new stuff to incorporate into said performance

I don't have a good camera so I can't really make videos, but I'll post the one I get from my talent show to show off what GXG has done for my stringing ability
