Default Request for watermill tutorial/help - 08-10-08, 01:35 AM

hey guys-

I have been working in watermills, and I would love a little help - specifically from the lady spinners out there. Cause...well, the chest is in the way. I figure it's like buzzsaws, there has to be a trick to it and I'll be fine...but I can't figure out the trick and it HURTS.

If anyone felt like making a short watermill tut - I would be eternally grateful. (I like this banana)

EDIT: Ok, I am now officially requesting a video, because I keep reading varying descriptions of this move that don't agree with each other, and I think I may be trying to do soemthing much more complex that isn't actually a watermill....and I'm soooo confused.

Then pie came. And it was good.

A watermill is simply swinging your poi, changing from your front to your back planes in split time...IE, when your right poi is in front of you, your left is behind you...That's all a watermill is....Now if your going behind you, to in front of you, to over your head, to in front on the other side, and then behind you on the other side, and repeating that motion, that's a fountain I believe, or a windmill, but I believe a windmill is simply rotating your poi above your head alternating planes.

sorry guys, I really apprecitae the descriptions, but I'm a visual and kinesthetic learner...I really need a vid, even if it's only two or three cycles of the move. It doesn't have to be a full blown tut, at least not for my benefit, but i do need to actually see someone doing it:-)

I've got windmills and fountains down cold, I just can't figure out where to put my hands to get a proper watermill going and not pop myself in the chest.
