so maybe here's one you can help me with - I'm trying to get comfortable turning from froward 3 beat to reverse and back. I can manage reverse to forward just fine, very consistently in the middle of spinning. But the other way is just not happenening. I do it sometimes, but it's always by accident. I think I just can't figure out which hand should lead...
EDIT: Ok, never mind...I figured it out:-)

Aha! I have victoriously conquered a forward 3 beat weave! Fwahahaha~
I feel pretty good about that. :'3 [/noob]
And God said, "Let there be pie." Then pie came. And it was good.

dude, nice. that one took me forever.
so, bryan. can you explain to me why when I try to do a split time 2 beat it magically becomes a 3 beat? It's like magic!
and can I say - my favorite part of this video is the part where you tell people to wear a cup. very favorite part. :-)

LOL....glad you liked that. I figured with as many people that have said that they have 'nutted' themselves trying some of these that a warning was in order.
And to execute a 2 beat split time....just always keep one hand on top....there are two types (as shown in the vid). For forward 2 beat weaves, there is one where the L is on top and leads and there is another where the R is on top and leads. Concentrate on the figure 8 pattern.
Feel the beat from start to stop, dancin' and groovin' from bottom to top!

I'm having trouble getting all my weaves in reverse,i've got the 2,3, and 5 beats down forward, but not reverse. I'm sure this will help me get a start, much appreciated man.

Ohhh.. that explains why that happens to me too. The magically turning into a 3 beat thing. So you can't alternate hands for a 2 beat split time without it changing..?

Well, if you are alternating hands each time for a 2 beat split time weave, you inherently create a 3 beat weave.....you can do a couple rotations of each type of 2 beat weave (R hand on top for 2 rotations, then L hand on top for 2)....but if you decide to make it a different hand on top each time, you have a 3 beat weave!

XD That makes so much sense! As I was trying to learn the 2 beat I was getting so frustrated because I kept adding the extra beat and I couldn't figure out why mine didn't look right. XD;;
And now I know. :'D (had I known of course I was doing a 3 beat by accident I probably would've screamed at how excited I would have been.) <3

ROCK ON!! I helped a 7 y.o. learn to weave!!! That's incredible! I wish I started that early cause I'd be so much better right now!!!
Yeah...ATB rocks my world!! One of my favorite artists! I need the new album, though!
