New fire video! -
09-28-08, 09:08 AM
so I went up into the canyons with some friends, my friend wanted to get in his first burn, so I got a small recording of one of my burns, sorry its so short, but we were having camera difficulties, i still feel this came out better than my other videos, ive been practicing alot and working on some new moves, only been 1 month since i got my cathedrals and just under 3 months ive been doing poi now, constructive critisism is highly welcomed

nice video- longer and steadier would be appreciated but i understand filming restrictions. as far as spinning constructive crticism goes, i would say learn some stalls and maybe try do some more with isolations to give you a little more variety. its really great that you have a place like that where you can just bust out with all that space. that being said i would be doing flowers alot in a place like that. look fawrad to seeing more fire, always a treat. thanks for sharing.

unfortunately it caught the end of my burn, i have some stalls down, one was caught on film but my friend kept circling around me and it caught it of f angle, also was doing flowers (and anti spun flowers) and buzzsaws, 5 beat weave, and through wraps, however they were all done in the first half of my burn, i will deffinately get more footage once i get more fuel!

that sounds awesome, it didnt dawn on me that that was only the latter half of a full burn. in this case im even more excited to see more video from you. the first burn i had filmed my friend on camera detail was too drunk to follow the simple instruction of stand in one place and kept prancing around me like some nimble tree elf. plenty of spinning coolness lost to the void of poor plane planning.

LMFAO.....I'm sorry, but the part about the nimble tree elf just made me lose it!!!
Okay, back on topic.....nice video. Seems like you have a decent grasp of the basic moves.....wish I woulda seen the stuff you mentioned from the first half of the burn! Nicely done either way....decent flow. My positive criticism would be to try to move around/dance a little more and make sure your planes are aligned. Nice job, keep up the good work!
Feel the beat from start to stop, dancin' and groovin' from bottom to top!

yes I've been working on my dance part recently, learning to do 180s and 360s by stepping through weaves, I want to learn my meltdowns and my btb weaves so i can do it a little more dance like and fluidly, i got a few of my friends getting into poi, so them learning new moves is striving me to learn more myself!

Like bryan said, the dancing is a great element to add, definitely adds to the appeal.
Haha ive been spinning for about nine months and i'm spinning fire for the first time on saturday! I didn't event think about it as early as three months but you seem to do it well. good video.
