Hey everyone at GenXGlow! My name's Alex, but since that might be a bit confusing around here due to another Alex (who is much better than I btw) you can just call me...well, whatever ya want, but Mikomi works fine with me! So, naturally, I'm new to stringing and raves and all. I've only been to two and I was instantly hooked. While there were some parts I didn't like, just the feeling of the music and being able to be myself really drew me in. So I live in the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin... but I looked into a rave down in Ripon. That was my first one, and from what I hear from others, the one I was at was small. I can't wait to see a full blown one!
Anyway, I've been stringing on and off for 1-2 weeks and so far I've got down the 3-beat forward & reverse, 2-beat, Windmill, Butterfly, ttn butterfly (I think... I'll have to post a vid so people can tell me if I'm doing it right...), a bunch of random wraps, and I've just about got fountains down. So....I'm really wondering where to go from there... I really like the idea of glowstringing compared to poi, however....I have yet to lay my hands on glowsticks ^_^; I repeat, I live in the middle of nowhere and I don't have a credit card >.< but I think I'll head up to Appleton soon. So for now I've been practicing with socks balled up attached to strings. It's better than my first idea: sawed off drumsticks with a hole in it. (I can still feel the pain...)
Buuuuuuut, that's that. If anyone is in the Wisconsin area, it'd be great to meet ya! As well as anyone else here on GenXGlow....yesh...

Hey Alex. Welcome 2 GxG. you sound like you have a great set up of moves right now so id suggest getting down buzzsaws and try to make combos and worry about other moves later. Having a great flow in your strining is as important knowing alot of moves. again, welcome to GxG and enjoy it here! hope 2 see you around =)

Welcome to GXG, Alex! I'm glad you found the site and that you want to learn to glowstick! If you're looking for glowsticks, just find a Target or Wal-Mart....they both carry glowsticks and some party stores will also. Get yourself some shoe laces too. Glowsticks are awesome, but don't rule out poi....it's a great way to learn moves! This is an awesome community. If you have questions, ask in the forums and I'm sure you'll get good answers.
