i hate how people always think i automatically do drugs, want sex, etc, when i talk about raving. i love it for the natural high, the rush you get when dancing to amazing music. the friends you might make. the lights, the show, the feeling basically. what do i do when my friends start talking about me doing drugs and raving when i'm not?

well i come across this problem a lot. even though i do occasionally pop a pill, i just tell them that i'm not an etard or something. i usually figure out my true friends when i get this problem. there's a difference between assuming and worrying

Amazing_Plur it happens- when you talk about the 'rave scene' everyone associates it with mainly DRUGS- its OUR time to turn the shit around and SHOW THEM its NOT about the DRUGS its about the MUSIC =D

Totally true, and I wish that was everyone's mentality, but unfortunately it's not. There are some people that go to raves just to get fucked up royally... and if thats their cup of tea, I can't get mad at them for anything other than messing with the rep the rave scene has.

i know what you're talking about. when people ask me what im doing (when they see me spin) i try to avoid using the word rave specifically because i can see it once you use rave, they go on auto pilot and think rave=drugs. and it sucks because you dont see raves in the news for the amazing music and talent. you see raves as ecstasy and drugs. its all bullshit. when i do say rave i tell people to think of what ravers do and subtract the drugs. but they still judge. fuck most of the non-ravers that know jack shit.

its kinda funny you started this post. i had an epiphany this weekend (and i do mean a real one, i'll blog the paper i wrote later) and right now, instead of feeling anger and hate towards the non-ravers that assume, im reminded of christ and his followers back in the day. we do our thing and people dont understand it all so they assume and judge and hate blindly. but its all good in the end because who needs the opinions of those people anyway? we know and thats all that matters!

Lol, people ask me about raves, and I'm like, I'm a total raver, and they ask do I do drugs, and I'm like, sometimes when I go to raves I will munch a few tabs, but I've been to the club more times sober, and everyone isn't rolling nuts and having sex in the open like everyone wants to believe...Any disagreement beyond that point is a lack of knowledge, and them not knowing the truth doesn't affect me...

ive had people think just cause
i do light shows and roll
they think i pop everyday i do it to party and have
fun not to be a "druggie" or to get that out of realality state for the moment
i Do it for the friends and fun
me and all my firends have gotten closer because of it
and ive changed some of the haters minds
