So yeah roc-it did a lot better than on wednesday. Same guy right? I haven't really adjusted to this whole breakbeat thing, but I'm starting to like it. It's kind of gangsterish haha.... but yeah he was good. I never realized so many people did the breakbeat thing around here. I guess if I could request one thing from the local breakbeat dj's it would be this: mix in south carolina rap. The commercial rap is cool, but sc has released some killer tunes that need to get exposure. I'm all about the local flavor. Just for reference some of my favorites would be these
In fact this guy's youtube channel is a goldmine for straight SC rap-

If I had any dj skills I would of already made a mix using this stuff haha.
Rel1 was awesome. He made me feel like I should have paid double. I'll go see him again if he ever plays. He managed to really craft a musical journey. Comedy, tension, and put down some good ole' bangers.
Jorge haha what can I say. I didn't get it. Fidget house??? I'll leave that to people who like happy hardcore. So after two really good sets the night ended with kind of a whimper for me.
I had never been to this venue before sooo naturally I was kind of skeptical after looking at the website for the place. Well it was fine and not shady. The dancefloor was small. That turned out to be advantageous for the vibe though. Lots of good dancers were out. My favorite dancer would have to be the big guy in the red shirt breaking it down like he was at a pentecostal revival. The weirdest thing though was it was like we were on a bizzaro dancefloor b/c more guys were dancing than girls haha. Maybe I didn't see them dancing in the back. So yeah another good time for me. I think this might be the nail in the coffin for me venturing into the wacktastic downtown scene.
