I've been debating on whether or not to even share my experiences of last night and I realize that this will piss some people off, but I feel like I would be doing a disservice to myself and to everyone else if I ignored it.

I volunteered a couple of weeks ago to play on the patio late night b/c I would have to bring my cdjs and didn't want to have to hook them up and then unhook them while people were still playing. Timeslots were never posted so I called Brian at 10:30 and was told that I was playing at 2 or 3, probably 3.

I arrived at midnight and am told by several people that timeslots have been cut down to 30 minute slots. I debated on whether or not I should stay and even bother hooking up.. but I talked to Brian and he said that I got an hour. Awesome.

So time creeps by and I just chill on the patio. At 2:30, I start hooking my stuff up. Brian, who has already played the mainroom from 12ish - 1ish, is on the decks on the patio by this point. He tells me that Rick West was wanting to play on the patio and would need to use my equipment. I told him that wasn't going to work.

3 finally comes and I step up to play my set. Brian immediately comes up and stops the record and starts breaking everything down. I ask him what was going on. He says that he is shutting down early. I ask him why. He says that he will explain tomorrow. I tell him that I deserve an explanation. "I owe no motherfucker an explanation."

Wow. Did that really just happen?

I was pissed. I let everyone I knew that was still there know what happened as I left. As I pulled off, there were people screaming. People fighting. Where were the security guards?

I texted Brian to let him know that I wasn't happy about what happened(obviously) and he made it pretty clear that he had no intentions of trying to right the situation. Professionalism at it's finest, to say the least.

I think it's great that someone around here is investing their time and money into giving Greenville a place to dance, but this is where the line is drawn. I have spent 8 years trying to be a positive influence about the music and the scene and to have been so disrespected in my own town is a slap in the face.

If you are going to throw parties, by all means do it the way you see fit. Book all your amateur friends, put your name at the top of the flyer, open up for the headliner every time , play the patio too (who cares if people drove 3 hours to play, just give them 30 minutes), charge the dj's guest, do what you gotta do. But don't treat people like you treated me. There are plenty of other more constructive things I could have been doing last night besides standing in that hellhole (the all ages shit needs to change too, bucko).

People of Greenville, you deserve better. I hope this kid steps up to the plate.

I personally think the all ages thing is a good thing it gives younger kids something to do. Maybe there needs to be a dress code for the younger girls cause some that are only 16 shouldn't be walking around with their junk hanging out the bottom of their skirt. That's how men get in trouble cause girls lie and sometimes they do look 18.

I had a great night even though I missed HenryWilson play. Waldo had everybody going crazy. They should have put you outside cause that little room got packed and hot as hell fast.
I meet more members of GXG from NC and a few from SC.

The administrators got some time off so that had to be fun for them.
Hopefully Reid will go back and watch the video he was making and realize how bad I suck and delete it lol

Man TonyKarma I hate that your night didn't turn out well. I hope that there is some sort of reasonable explanation to what happened. A lot of the things you described aren't common at all for this scene. We didn't get to hear you last night, so be sure and post up a mix of yours so we can give it a listen.

The name of the game was HENRY WILSON last night! You were awesome, they should have put you in the patio. He had that 10x10 room packed and dancing. Good stuff. Hit us up with that set you used last night! I want to let my friends hear it that couldn't make it. Who was the guy in the tank top that played right before you? He was really good too from what I heard.

The bad:

Upon the crazy ass drive to get to this place me and Cassandar (she didn't rsvp...the bitch aha) got to the front door, whipped out $10 dollars, and couldn't get in. The charge for under 21 was $15...after gas and food I had 12. I asked the women up front what she could make happen for a 20 year old and $12 and she just turned me away. We had to go back to a gas station to get more cash. I felt a little hustled because there was no mention of a price to get in, especially an extra fee for being 6months under 21. This wouldn't have happened if they had put the fee's on the flyer and the site.

Someone on the site said they were not allowing lights! So I didn't really bring anything! Now I know they do.

I saw one guy, who was supposedly on of the dj's (I won't say any names, but it wasn't any of the guys I know), not really being respectful of those around him. He was throwing glowsticks at The Gypsy who, while crazy, was just doing her own thing and thats what its about. He would take sticks on strings and spin them as fast and hard as he could too close to people walking around and sitting which is a good way to nail someone right in the face. Also, he would throw random things from the floor into the air; I almost got hit with a glowstick and I wasn't too close to him.

They could have used a little security. At least two or three big guys to keep the spazzes mellow. I heard there were a few fights and I always imagine its really hard to start a fight at a rave but who knows.

All in all a good time!

Well maybe I don't suck but I'm not very good. I'm a lot better with just regular stings. I've only been practicing with the handles for 2wks.
