The oggz are amazing. Though, like all of flow toy's products, I've had problems with them. All of my flowlights have broken from the poi hitting eachother (While in the cases), I've been sent a defective ogg, and when replaced, received another defective ogg. So I gave up on my ogg poi. I don't even know where they are right now. They're probably burried under the giant mountain of clothes I have in my room.

haha was just on flowtoys.com and i saw this

WARNING - OGGZ DURABILITY HAS DECREASED!: We recently received reports of oggpoi breaking and after some testing have determined that the oggz are now less durable than before. The internal plastic AND the circuit board are weaker and more likely to crack in "oggz" produced after Spring 2008. "Oggz" are NOT designed or manufactured by flowtoys. They are produced by a company we have no connection with, for the purpose of mood-lighting and though they were never intended for spinning, they make excellent poi, and we convert them for this purpose.

We will continue to sell oggpoi because they are still some of the best weighted and best looking poi heads available, however we must recommend that you avoid hitting them together in high-impact moves like butterflies or against each other or any hard surface.

so yeah that took my eye out of buying ogg poi

Here are my recommendations: Oggz are expensive and not made well enough (especially recently). Home of Poi has an alternative glow ball which are made well, from my experience. They're very durable, have good weight and produce a nice glow. Beyond this, they're pretty cheap, so if they do break, it's much easier to replace them without breaking the bank. As far as sock poi go....I have a set of foxy sock poi which I like....if you get certain colors, they glow under the blacklight and you can also put LED's inside them. The jailhouse poi are pretty stretchy and I didn't really like the feel of the ones I played with. I don't know how the cone poi are, but they look nice....you can also get them with ball handles which would be good for tosses. Beyond that, I really like my flowpoi....I have duos, but they might be a bit heavy and menacing for your first poi set....but whatever you think looks best. The trails they create are amazing and they are definitely an eye-grabber.

Good luck in your decision....also, if you're interested in a 15% discount code for HOP, please PM me.
