Yeah, I could make a ghetto staff, but I'm afraid I'll do it wrong and both the kevlar wicks will fly off and burn someone while I'm staffing...

And I do practice, I just use a really long broom handle, lol, but it's the perfect size, like the EXACT size I'd want my staff to be...

And I could do the atm thing, but I don't have a job and I can't find one because no one will hire me because I'm on probation for a violence crime...

Well, you don't have to be amazing in the world of staff....you're always awesome in my book! Just show us some of your abilities. Now, to attempt to alleviate your issues....number one: you should be able to find SOMEONE with a digital cam that you could borrow or they could film you....so that's not that big of a deal. Number two: get a checking account with an ATM card that has debit capabilities....it works the same as a credit card, but the funds come right out of your account...thus limiting you to spending only what you can really afford at that time. I use a debit card for most of my purchases online and in person. Otherwise, you could do money orders or pay-pal. You probably could make one fairly cheap with some kevlar wrapped around both ends of an aluminum tube....then wrap some grip tape in the middle. Do you practice staff often? If so, what do you use?

Connor....I'm very glad you look out for people's safety and teach them proper fire safety techniques....very honorable. And yeah, cheap poi is defnitely NOT the way to go. Fire props are something you should go all out on and get the highest quality. You need something safe and reliable that will last a long time.

LilRaverBoi, I'd be happy to post a fire staff vid, but one, I don't have a camera, and two, I don't own, or know anyone who owns, a fire staff...

That and I kinda killed my ability to get credit cards when I first turned 18 (19 now), so I can't get anything that's online, anything I have I've bought in person.

But as soon as I can get a fire staff and cam, you'll see a vid up...

Like and I'll clarify, overall, I may not be mind blowing in the entire world of fire staffin, but my first time I was doing shit that people who'd been doing it months couldn't do.. Like it's what I have a natural knack for, so overall, I may not be the best, but I'm still good enough to watch over and over...

a few days ago i met a girl at the beach who was a first time firespinner with $10 poi from Thailand. She was fueling them with zippo lighter fluid by holding them in the air and pouring it all over them as well as the ground. she proceeded to light them and do the few moves she knew without spinning them off or anything.

I held back my urge to yell anything i could think at her about how stupid she was for being so careless to her audience and environment, and calmly explained a few things about proper fueling techniques.

She was nice, so that was cool, but then i felt bad because her chains broke after a few spins. she'll have to invest more than 10 bucks next time.

Siler, I wanna see a fire staff vid!! We don't have enough staff vids on the site anyway....post it in the 'poi discussion' even though it's not poi....that's for all the forum for all the circus toys.

duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude i got those cathedral poi with the oval links from homeofpoi and those are fantastic and everything but its kinda weird with the wicks being kinda light and the chains being so heavy but i put some of my friends monkeyfists on there the other day and it was heaven.

i just practiced A LOT with my monkey fists to get used to the weight, and then played with them a ton when they were on fire to get used to the flames. after a while it isn't scary at all, more so fun.

I took it slow the first time and after that there was no fear. It was at night in the pitch black so its like "ahh where am i" all you can see is the fire haha so i did everything really carefully but after a few times i learned that i'm not made of paper and if i mess up a wrap or something it doesn't mean immediate death so its cool now
