Imagine a place that could give minute to minute updates on what someone is doing. Well, that place is Twitter, and Djs all over the world have began to utilize this great tool. From releasing dates for new cds and shows to just saying what they’re working on, Djs are able to get their information out to the public instantly.
Twitter is a web-based program that allows the user to answer one simple question: “What are you doing?” The answer is then instantly sent to all followers in the form of a cell phone text, instant message, or as a post on the users profile. This allows for someone to know what the user is posting in real-time so everyone is always updated.
This real-time updating service is allowing DJs to promote and keep fans updated at a much faster rate and personal level. By answering one question, information on things like radio broadcasts, cd release dates, upcoming events, what’s in development, or where they are at (to name a few) are transmitted all over the internet in an instant – to be viewed by anyone.
Armin Van Buuren announced on twitter around 1:30 PM yesterday that: “My new single with Jacqueline Goveart entered no 32 in the national chart!! Yihoe!!”
About 2 hours earlier, Paul Oakenfold announced: “Djing in paris tonight at madonna show,if you have not seen It you are missing out IT IS GREAT”
Technology is constantly changing and growing, and Twitter is one of the newest and best. Click Here to logon or join twitter so you can begin getting information from all your favorite DJs! Check out these DJs on twitter from DjMags 2008 top 100 Djs:
